Best of Santorini Tourism and what to expect.

I realized that I was in need for a trip somewhere and I am taking my brother in law and group of friends that were already excited about going. So we decided to do a little research beforehand to get the trip planned out. My brother in law actually had a gentleman that owns an OKC¬†garage door repair company in OKC tell him while getting his door fixed that he was just there and it was amazing and to definitely go. So I started to do my research and see what all there was to do. Here’s what I found: A caldera, that is when a volcano erupts within itself, forming a crest, Santorini Island is a result of the volcanic destruction. A beautiful Island connected to the Mediterranean Sea, lyings between Greece and Turkey. The Island is known for it’s magnificent, eye-warming sunsets and unique beaches.

A caldera, that is when a volcano erupts within itself, forming a crest, Santorini Island is a result of the volcanic destruction. A beautiful Island connected to the Mediterranean Sea, lyings between Greece and Turkey. The Island is known for it’s magnificent, eye-warming sunsets and unique beaches.

One can visit its small towns and villages, which has to share its own variation of attraction. The popular destinations in Santorini are FIRA, OIA, PERRISA, KAMARI, IMEROVIGLI, and AKROTIRI.

These locations are known for its beaches, resorts, they also offer hiking trails, cruise trips, and wonderful nightlife.

Kemari is known for its Open Air Cinema and its black beach. Kemari Beach is surrounded by black sand, black rocks, and pebbles are the best place to attract tourists. Nevertheless, adding on to the list of Santorini’s unique beaches is another ‘Black Beach’- the Perrisa beach, located southeast of Fira, features black sand, crystal clear water and its significant features are the huge rocks that emerge from within the sea, these rocks are the main attraction of this site and are called the Mesa Vouno, these rocks shines at night, leaving the tourists mesmerized.

Akrotiri, which is a Minoan Bronze Age settlement on the volcanic island Santorini, has its own attraction. Towards its tail end lies a beautiful and famous beach, the Red Beach, which is known for its reddish volcanic sand. It attracts most tourists as it is a great swimming spot and best for snorkeling, allowing one to collect the beautiful rocks buried underwater.

Hiking Trail Fira is highly recommended for all tourists. The views are amazing, and if one happens to go on a cool, windy and cloudy day, a refreshing experience is ¬†GUARANTEED. There are many places to stop for a beer/coffee/food as you pass through several villages. Although it is a long hike, it is definitely worth a shot. Fira also has to offer the tour to a famous ‘Archeological Museum’ which has a lot of information to offer to its visitors as it displays sculptures, statues, and findings from the times of ancient cemetery.

Tourism on Santorini Island is a perfect blend of enjoying both traditional and modern culture. It is a place where you will find more churches than houses and more wine than water. It’s also famous for its wineries and dome-shaped houses. Nevertheless, the locals of Santorini promote their tradition excessively by hosting events and preparing traditional food that will just make you fall in love with Santorini.

Santorini also has to offer helicopter flight, which displays the incredible view of Santorini’s cliffs, caldera, vineyards when it passes over the towns.

To unwind the day, Santorini has great deals of resorts and hotel to stay in. Few hotels at the top of the list are, Pegasus Suites & Spa, this luxury 5-star hotel is located on the caldera with an incredible view. Volcanic View Hotel, which is located in Fira and is perfect to enjoy your honeymoon. Lastly, Art Maison Luxury Santorini Hotels Aspaki & Oia Castle, offering a magical experience with its beautiful location at the hilltop, on the edge of the volcanic cliff, in the heart of preserved village of Oia.

SO I have made my mind up and we will be there in the beautiful Santorini sun in a few days. Glad I did my research and So ready to go now.
